February **LOVE**

You know what's cool...the february kit!! and the coolest part - it's not a valentine kit...yet their are small features that scream **LOVE**

Like this last layout I have to share - I love BOOTS! seriously...these tiny little rubber boots that my boys all wore - eek, I love them, I actually have them wrapped, saved and treasured because they are so little and so cute!!!!! Therefore....I must scrap them too!!! the fun, whimisical frog paper and all the fun circles and cutouts from the mulberry paper - make this just a fun layout - the kind where you just wing it and make it carefree!! and see those cute cute red letters...with the hearts??????? almost as cute as the boots!!

and I gotta thank Tami for inviting me again to play along - I loved it!!!!

I love Prima specialty paper!!!!!

I had a blast playing with the Prima stitched mulberry paper! You can't be afraid of it - you really just need to cut into - because the texture and the playfullness is built right in - it's easy work - just cut it out!! and that is what I did! used another flower cutout and more bling bling!! The transparency circle was a great mat for my photo! I snagged the shaped cardstock from The December kit it was a perfect complement - I always love when you can blend pieces from previous months!!!!! the kits really are versatile!

Just a few of my February creations!!!

Hey Scrap this kit ladies!!! So I am not late to the reveal party now am I??? I was having a little party with the family, one of my babies turned 8 years old today and wow - time is a flying!!!!! So how is 2010 going for everyone?? Getting a lot of scrapping done?? Thank You Tami for asking me to work with the kit again!! This is my first kit of the new year and what fun - who does not love Prima??? I love it and wow all the bling and the fun colors and well I am all about colors and fun!!!!! Today I am here to share the first 2 things I did with all this yummy goodness that Tami picks out!!!

First I just took a few photos of a simple~quick~technique that I usually always apply to my Layouts! I love dimension and texture - I think both of those elements always adds so much to a layout! and there are so many easy ways to add a little pop or crinkle here and there to give paper or embellishments some extra personality.

Here is my trusty fiskars finger cutter, I love this tool! It is so handy for cutting things out of paper. so here I was cutting out a flower shape.

above shows the paper just cut out and flat.....but if you just run your fingers around the edges of the flower, you can give it some curl or dimension, a little bend or whatever - there really is no wrong or right, just play with it! So now I have given the flower some texture and it's ready to mat behind my nice Prima flower! which just makes a nice additional layer to the page.

Now I have a nice layer of Prima pearls, papercut-out flower and the Bright Yellow Prima for a nice cluster. the playful accents are perfect for these beach photos of my Nieces! Love the fun pom pom trim! And the Red letters are soooo cute - they have little hearts on them!!!!!

and on this Layout of my nieces and nephews - I just crinkled the edge of my paper mat all the way around with my finger, very simple..again no rhyme or reason to it - but it gives the page that extra dimension and you aren't lost with the flatness.

First up is the main kit.. a mix of a few lines from Prima Marketing. I fell in love with the pretty blues and greens immediately. Then when I came across the sheet with some bright pink on it I loved the surprise and mix. When I saw the sheet with the frog, it was too much. And the extra coordinating alpha just because it's such a cool font with little hearts!


And wow.. Amy had so much fun with this kit! You saw her sneaks.. let's see the rest!

Amy thinks sometimes you can look at a lo and just know that its missing something…most often she finds that by adding an element and another, you still won’t be satisfied and moreover your lo becomes too crowded. Maybe all it’s missing, are those little finishing touches, that bring character and definition to your lo. In “Sweet Dreams” she added a few of those “extra special touches”, by embellishing the flowers in the left hand corner with a little bling. Not only does this repeat an element already introduced in the lo, thereby creating continuity, but it also helps to bring out all of the fantastic little details and doodles on the background paper.

Tip: A great way to stretch your supplies, try cutting a couple pearls or crystals off the end of one of one of the swirls!

Amy's got the eye for recycling! Her advice is don’t forget to look to your packaging for scrapbooking cues as well. Some of this stuff is way too beautiful to just throw away! They can make great accents (like in “Posh Spice” and “Our Little Cupid“), wonderful photo mats (like in “Sweet Dreams“) or even stunning borders (like in “Sweet Child of Mine“), you just have to think outside the box!

Another tip from Amy: Try adding a bit of gathered fabric behind a photo or border for a soft, yet dimensional effect.

This month will be a fantastic treat of talent! First Gina de Jong will be back with her layering talent. She is so amazing I can not get enough of the eye candy she shares.

And Amy is joining us this month. Amy just recently joined the Get It Scrapped team and I conned her into doing a little design team work. She has a very fun whimsical style that I thought would compliment the kit this month.

Hi There! My name is Amy Kingsford and I have lived all of my life in Northern Utah. I am married to the funniest man I have ever met and am a mother to one very silly, but beautiful little boy, who has become somewhat of a muse for me over the past couple of years! I am a part of the team at Get It Scrapped! and just recently had my first layout published in Ella Publishing Co.'s "Scrapbook Ellaments" ezine in Jan of 2009.

I have always enjoyed crafting--since I was very young I had been soaking up everything my grandmother and mother were willing to teach me

, from sewing to woodworking to cake decorating. I started scrapbooking when I was 17, without my mother's or grandmother's expertise to guide me (though I would find that much of what they had taught me, would come in handy). And here I am ten years later and still going strong--preserving the memories of my families' lives and learning from other equally talented people along the way.

Just a personal note about Scrap This Kit, I have been working with Tami's kits since Scrap This Kit's very first kit went on sale in August of last year and I absolutely love them! Every month I look forward to having a box stuffed full of scrap goodies delievered to my doorstep.
